Make Money Naming Domains

A domain name represents the website and easy to remember domain names are often going to get visited more often, then long domain names, especially those which consists of random letters and not words. That is why having a short domain name, preferably a domain name which reflects the topic of the site is a great idea and webmasters are willing to pay a lot for a high quality domain name.

To earn money from this phenomena you can be a contributor to pickydomains.com, which is a site that helps to find domain names for customers who are wiling to pay $50 for such a service. You can also offer your services on your website and forums so that there won't be any middle-man.

Publishing Your Blog as a Book

Would it be a good idea to publish your blog as a book?

The idea sounds tempting, probably especially for people that have really good quality content and were thinking about new channels to spread their writings. I never heard about a blogger actually doing it, but today I read that a blogger, namely Sasha Cagen, has released her blog in a book format, apparently in PDF format.
It sounds really impressive and I wish her even more success in the future. I think that the fact that she released her blog as a book might motivate other bloggers as well to consider doing so.

Making Money Online ?

To those that are looking on how to make money online I would summarize my thoughts as follows:

  • find a subject that you are passionate about or at least one that is not going to get your bored in a month from now
  • think what you want to build and what is the demand for that
  • learn how to build it or hire someone to do it for you
  • Get a proper domain name
  • Get some cheap hosting (for starters at least)
  • build it
  • promote it
  • monetize it (put ads or affiliate links or your products on it)
  • analyze the stats
  • ask questions/read/learn improve it
  • cycle back to promotion until you get it right

Once you are comfortable with this an updating and revising your site is a breeze then you can focus on building another site

All this is usually quite involved and it needs some time investment and some patience

The more you put into your projects the more they might give back to you. Maybe not from the first months or the first year but they will.

If you have found yourself in a position of loosing your faith about making money of the internet you can consider on a recent discussion on DP on how to make $100k in 5 years in this thread: Click Here

Powerful Copywriting Tips

Copywriting is the one skill which all online business owners should learn. As an online marketer you communicate through words – if those words aren’t effectively conveying your message, then you’re in for a long and bumpy ride.

Here are a few copywriting tips to help you get started:

Know your Target Market – Good copywriters know exactly who they’re writing for before starting. They speak directly to ONE person and keep that same person in mind at all times. If you try to reach too many people with your copy you’ll end up missing your target altogether and not reaching anyone at all. Before starting, know exactly who you’re writing your copy for and stick to it.

Headlines that Intrigue – Use clear headlines throughout your copy to guide the reader. Your main headline should be in bold and large letters to grab the reader’s attention. It is often the headline which can either make or break your copy. Use a benefit-focused headline, which explains in powerful detail how you can help solve the customer’s problem. Then use sub-headlines throughout the copy to keep the reader intrigued so they will keep reading.

Don’t use Big Words – Online writing is different to the writing you did in English class. Throw out the text book and forget all those rules your teacher taught you. Online writing is casual and needs to convey emotion and a clear purpose. You need to speak to the person as though you’re sitting down with them and chatting over a coffee… stay away from big words and long adjectives or risk boring (and losing) your prospects!

Be Persuasive – If you love your product that’s great but it’s also a bit biased. Your customers want to hear from other unbiased people who have used your product. Include customer testimonials but not just any testimonial will do, the more information you can include the better. Try to include the person’s full name, city, state, website URL and if possible a picture of that person. The more information your testimonial includes the more persuasive and believable.

It’s not all about you! – In fact, it’s not about you at all. Effective copywriting is concerned with the needs of the customer. The writer doesn’t really matter...Of course, you may need to add a little personal information about yourself in order to gain trust and to explain why your customer should trust you, but even in this case it’s all about what you can do for them. Go through your copy, does it contain a lot of “I’s” then it’s time for a serious re-write. Go back and change most of those “I’s” to “You’s”. Your writing should always be about the customer.

Don’t forget the call – The call to action that is. You must guide your visitors and tell them what you expect them to do. If you want them to click over and purchase your weight loss product, say so, and say so in a clear way which promotes all the benefits of your products “Click here to learn how you can lose those last 10 pounds and keep it off for good” . Be precise in your wording and always include a clear call to action.

RSS Feed or E-mail Subscriptions

In this post I am not really going to answer which choice is better, but I just want to say that in some cases e-mail subscriptions might be a better choice. Let’s face it – most blogs focus on RSS feeds and RSS subscribers a lot deal more, then on e-mail subscriptions. This is probably due to the fact that RSS subscriptions are very convenient and are more and more popular.

So why would anyone not want to be an RSS subscriber, but rather prefer to subscribe by e-mail? The answer is that many internet users simply didn’t learn yet about RSS feeds and might not know how to subscribe to a feed or use RSS feed readers. This post is especially directed at blogs which deal with non-technical topics. I think it is important to remember that some people do not know everything when it comes to more technologically advanced stuff like RSS feeds and it is important to take that into account if one is in a niche that includes a lot of people non-technologically oriented.

Monetization Widgets

There are many ways to monetize your blog and one of them is to implement a monetization widget. What is a monetization widget, one might ask? It is simply a piece of script which gets displayed on your site as a graphical widget. There are a few companies, which offer such kind of widgets:

  • WidgetBucks.com
  • ScratchBack.com
  • SmartLinks.com
  • What is attractive about them is that they act like a widget in a sense that they are easy to implement, especially if you have a blogging platform like WordPress which allows it. Some of them work like pay-per-click ads, text lick ads or even like affiliate links. They work in a different way, yet all of them provide with an opportunity to monetize your site.

    8 AdSense resolutions for 2008

We're a few days into the new year, so hopefully you've been making good progress on your resolutions so far. If you've only gotten as far as "don't procrastinate" on your list, here are 8 AdSense-related resolutions you might want to try:

    1. Turn my custom channels into ad placements, complete with descriptive details to attract placement-targeting advertisers.
    2. Regularly check my sites for compliance with the AdSense program policies.
    3. Keep my address and tax info up to date so that my payments are accurate and timely. (And sign up for EFT if it's available to me!)
    4. Place more of my ad units above the fold and on my homepage for increased visibility -- and advertiser appeal.
    5. Share my AdSense expertise with other publishers in the AdSense Help Forum.
    6. Opt in to text and image ads to make the most of the available ad inventory for my content.
    7. Use the Manage Ads feature to experiment with removing the borders from my ad units.
    8. View the Payments Demo and payments schedule with rapt attention so I'll always know when to expect my next payment.

And just as some resolutions always manage to make an appearance every year, why not also take a look at our oldie-but-goodie AdSense resolutions from 2006 for further inspiration? (We still like #10 a lot.) As for us here at Inside AdSense, we resolve to keep listening to your feedback and bringing you the latest AdSense updates -- complete with the occasional cheesy title, of course.

Please note: This post is from http://adsense.blogspot.com. I just think it might be useful if you think so.
